The young German baritone received his first musical education at the Tölzer Knabenchor. In his role as chorister and alto soloist he sang at major European opera houses and concert halls with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Sir Georg Solti, Zubin Mehta, James Levine and Nikolaus Harnoncourt.
He studied with Markus Goritzki (Freiburg), Hans-Joachim Beyer (Leipzig) and Roland Hermann (Karlsruhe), where he completed his degree with summa cum laude. Currently, he is being coached by Margreet Honig (Amsterdam).
Simon Schnorr has won multiple prices such as the International Schubert Song Competition in Osaka, the Franz-Völker price in Neu-Isenburg and the Gustav-Scheck price in Freiburg. Moreover, he is the holder of a scholarship from the MIGROS-Kulturstiftung in Zurich and from the Richard Wagner Association in Karlsruhe.He attended Master classes with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Thomas Hampson, Ernst Haefliger, Kurt Widmer, Kiri Te Kanawa, and Barbara Bonney to complete his vocal education. 1 | 2
